Saxon Industrial Museum of Chemnitz, Redesign of the permanent exhibition

OBJECT PLANNING

A separate and appealing valorisation of the exhibition area was realised for the building part A III (special exhibition). At the rearward area of the building an expansion construction with one floor (vestibule with cloakroom) was built.

The fire protection requirements were complied. Supporting and reinforced outer walls have been constructed with incombustible materials. New fire brigade plans were created within the fire protection concept.

The minimum heat insulation as well as the energy-efficient heat insulation according to the German Energy Saving Regulations (EnEV) has been proven.

Within the area of the former DKW area the „Rasmussen Hall” was established. When entering the hall the visitor obtains an impressive spatial experience and paves the way to the further special exhibition.
