DESIGN OF OPEN AREAS

The garden is located in the north-east area of the site and borders on the neighbouring kindergarten Triangel and the school for children with learning difficulties. The open space for the senior citizen centre in Frankenberg has been formed into an experience garden and from the spacious terrace, the playing hill and children playing on it can be seen. Raised beds with plants pleasing the senses, soft fruit bushes as well as a fountain near a pergola invite to linger. The pergola directly next to the kindergarten provides the possibility to start conversations with the children. A water-bound path allows the barrier-free access through the yard gate and the centre’s exits into the garden. Large shrubs and small fruit trees, located in the periphery of the garden courtyard, are important points of orientation. They also provide shade and illustrate the seasonal change.
