New Construction of the Diakonie Senior Citizen Center St. Katharina in Frankenberg
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
The building of the senior citizen centre is shaped as a „L“, which is a massive construction that was established with an internal elevator shaft. The roof structure is a green roof constructed as a solid structure made of reinforced concrete. The ceiling of the storeys is made of reinforced concrete slabs. The load bearing walls were established as masonry walls and the walls of the elevator shaft are made of reinforced concrete. The stiffness of the building is guaranteed by stiffening wall and ceiling discs. The upper edges of the walls of the first floor are hold by ring beams. The construction was exclusively effected on strip foundation in consideration of the subsoil expertise.
