New Design of a Landfill / Long-term Interim Storage Facility at the Abandoned Quarry Freiheit III
The Mitteldeutsche Sanierungs- und Entsorgungsgesellschaft mbH intends to create a storage facility for waste on the site of the Abandoned Quarry Freiheit III. Initially, a landfill was planned. Later on the design of an interim storage facility was decided on.
- Construction of the landfill / interim storage contact area, incl. the necessary barriers
- Base sealing
- Design of the deposition contour, determination of the disposal volume
- Division of the disposal area into economic construction stages
- Top sealing incl. Facilities for surface water catchment
- Planning of ancillary facilities, e.g. entrance area, access/bypasses/access roads, rainwater detention basin and leachate treatment facility
