Residential and office building including a subsidiary of savings bank in Chemnitz

This project includes the new building of a residential and office building including a subsidiary of savings bank in the ground floor. Two residential units in high standards were constructed in the upper floor. The building is situated near the river Chemnitz, this is the reason why this building was constructed without subbasement and the storerooms for the tenants were realized in the attic.

The foundation of the building was a combination of floor panel and isolated foundations. Because of poor subsoil conditions it was necessary to exchange the soil with compactable material under the entire building.

For the flexible layout design at a later date, the floors were constructed as reinforced concrete slabs on the external wall made of masonry and two internal supports. To realize a large window area the lintels were integrated into the floor.

The roof structure was made as a braced trussed rafter roof to create an attic without any columns.
